Q&As - Contact us

We don't think you need to deprive yourself on our retreat, in fact we believe that combining wonderful classes in a fun and supportive setting, carefully selected excursions to immerse yourself in the local culture and wellicious meals make for a perfect adventure and that's why our guests come back year after year. Yoga classes, Meditation, Kirtan in beautiful settings, Sound therapy healing, Massages & Acupuncture treatments are at the core of our trips, and we also make sure you enjoy the holiday part as much as the rest. We're flexible on everything, the classes are for all levels of experience and the activities are optional. We won’t raise our eyebrows if you feel like sleeping in, and you can join the group or spend time on your own, most guests do a bit of both. Our groups are relatively small, normally around 10-12 people, made up of solo travellers, couples, friends– many people come on their own from all around the world.

WHAT IF I'M NOT EXPERIENCED IN YOGA, IS THIS RETREAT STILL FOR ME?

Yes, the retreats are for all levels of yogis and non yogis.

All our Yoga teachers are qualified through well respected schools of yoga, like The British Wheel of Yoga, Yogacampus and YogaAlliance. All the training courses have taken up to two years to complete and everyone has at least 5 years' teaching practice. Most of our teachers are also qualified in complementary practices.

We have maximum of 12 guests in any class as we feel that this is the only way to give everyone the attention they deserve.

There is a range of styles and levels taught throughout the retreat so you can choose the classes which best suit you. The most "advanced" yogi are those who are honest and true with where they are physically and mentally - which can mean holding back and taking it easy when you need rather than over pushing yourself to twist into that advanced pose.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND/PARTNER WHO DOESN'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE YOGA CLASSES?

Absolutely! Non-participants are always welcome. All classes are voluntary and there is always plenty of activities (or total relaxation) that can be enjoyed in place of one of the yoga classes.

Benefits of yoga include:

  • Improved efficiency of lungs and cardio-vascular system
  • Improved posture, flexibility and strength
  • Improved concentration
  • Enhanced feeling of well-being
  • Better quality of sleep
  • Reduction of anxiety and depression

DO I HAVE TO TAKE EVERY YOGA CLASS DURING THE WEEK?

All classes (and activities) are completely voluntary. So if you need to take it easy one morning, then by all means, do what you need physically and mentally.

WHAT TYPE OF YOGA CLASSES ARE OFFERED?

You are encouraged to take the time you need, go at your own speed, and try and let go - whether that means diving in deep into the morning and evening classes for the week, or maybe it means needing to rest one day instead. There are usually a big variety of classes and levels and we love that you can attend and participate without feeling any pressure. That said, for a basic overview, we do a general Vinyasa flow in the mornings about 60-75 minutes and enjoy an evening class which is more restorative or themed (hips, heart-openers) for around 45 minutes. There are various meditation times throughout the week with about 30 minutes guidance of various methods and encouragement to take any free-time to explore further on your own if you wish.

WHAT IS HOLISTIC ACUPUNCTURE & SOUND HEALING?

Traditional acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese theories of the flow of Qi (Energy and Xue (Blood) through distinct meridians or pathways that cover the body somewhat like the nerves and blood vessels do. Acupuncture allows Qi to flow to areas where it is deficient and away from where it is in excess. In this way, acupuncture regulates and restores the harmonious energetic balance of the body. In Chinese there is a saying, "There is no pain if there is free flow; if there is pain, there is no free flow."

A new Healing Experience combining Acupuncture and Sound Vibration for enhanced wellbeing, an experiential exploration through Sound Healing meditation and Energy activation to guide you on a path to positive change. We use very thin needles in the ears or on the body with the sound vibrations of therapeutic instruments, including Crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, Tuning Forks, Chimes, Bells, Rattles,  Planetary tuned Gongs impacting the body and its meridians. This powerful offering combining Holistic Acupuncture & Sound Healing is so effective because it influences our emotional bodies as well as our physical bodies. This dynamic synergy of sound and acupuncture results in a relaxing, clinically effective healing that activates your body's immune system.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?

Patients often experience the most dramatic results in the first treatment. Some patients experience an immediate total or partial relief of their pain or other symptoms. . Generally, you should expect to feel better.
