I wanted a name to capture my background in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Yoga; the word YU is Chinese for Jade the precious and auspicious green mineral, jade is most valued for its metaphysical properties. It is the ultimate "Dream Stone" revered in ancient cultures as well as today, to access the spiritual world, encourage creativity and is considered a powerful healing stone. An amulet of good luck and friendship, jade signifies wisdom gathered in tranquility, dispelling the negative and encouraging us to see ourselves as we really are. SUTRA means thread – to join together - relevant to yoga as it skillfully weaves together all the elements of life - mind, body, emotions, breath, soul, individuality and infinity into one exquisite tapestry. After much playing, these words were put together as the synergy between them seemed perfect; and so the name was born.

Blessings and feeling very grateful for my collaboration with Manis, born and raised in Bali. We will follow the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which translates as “three causes of well-being”. It refers to harmony among people, harmony with nature and the environment, and harmony with God. These three principles guide many aspects of Balinese life, from daily rituals to Balinese architecture.
